Benefits of Automatic Power Conveyor Systems

Automatic Power Conveyor Systems - Benefits

Automatic packaging lines simply cannot function efficiently without a power conveyor system to move bottles or other containers from machine to machine.  However, anyone who uses an automated line or has looked into the possibility of using such a line is well aware that different types of conveyors exist.  Below we look at the advantages of a few of the more common types of power conveyor.

C-Frame Style Systems

C-frame stainless steel conveyors are manufactured with a heavy duty frame and can convey just about any container down a packaging line.  These standard conveyor systems include an encapsulated return for the belt, which can vary in size depending on the width of the containers being run.  The encapsulated return belt help to keep the machine running safely and continuously for maximum packaging line efficiency.  These systems can also be manufactured to serve the production of sanitary products as well.  The C-Frame Conveyors are basically the work horse of conveyor systems.

Raised Belt Systems

Raised belt conveyor systems can be ideal systems where the focus is on cleanliness and quick clean up or changeover.  These systems can be manufactured in a sanitary and non-sanitary style, but are often built to allow for simple wash down after a production run.  The stainless steel construction allows for many products to be conveyed easily through a packaging line.  The raised belt design protects against build up of dust, debris, product or other contaminants on the belt itself.

Low Profile Anodized Aluminum Systems

Anodized aluminum conveyor systems are an economical solution for a wide variety of products.  Just like other conveyor types, the anodized aluminum conveyors allow machinery such as liquid fillers, capping machines and labeling equipment to simply roll up to the line and begin production.  These systems can be a good choice for packagers where space is limited and weight capacity is low to medium.

Custom Power Conveyors

The designs above will cover a majority of packaging systems that are transferring product from packaging machine to packaging machine.  However, custom conveyors may be designed for projects with unique or special needs based on containers, speed or the packaging process as a whole.  Other custom conveyors may tackle special tasks, such as laning conveyors to load bottles onto a packaging line, cooling conveyors to allow molten or hot fill products to drop in temperature between filling and capping or even accumulating conveyors to assist with the packing and shipping process.

All conveyors may be manufactured to certain specifications including height, width and weight capacity.  Conveyors may also run in a straight line or may include curved, inclined or declined section if the packaging process calls for the same.  The best solution for any packaging project will include an analysis of the unique needs of the packaging process as a whole.
